Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

AegisFleet (“AegisFleet”, “we”, “us”) is a fleet safety platform combining alcohol interlock enforcement, GPS tracking, and in-cab driver monitoring for commercial vehicle fleets, operated at aegisfleet.avgeindia.com. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it's handled — for visitors to this website, and for fleet customers using the platform.

2. What we collect

Website visitors. If you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email, company name, fleet size, and message. We don't use cookies or trackers on the marketing pages to profile visitors.

Portal customers. When your organization becomes a customer, we hold account data (name, email, role), authentication data (password hashes, optional MFA secrets — never plaintext passwords), and activity records (logins, alert acknowledgements, profile changes) for your team.

Fleet and vehicle data. Devices installed in customer vehicles report alcohol interlock test results, GPS location and route history, and — where driver monitoring is enabled — drowsiness, distraction, phone-usage, seatbelt, and smoking detection events, along with associated snapshots. This data belongs to the fleet operator (our customer); we process it on their behalf.

3. How we use it

• To operate the interlock, GPS, and driver monitoring features you or your organization subscribe to
• To respond to enquiries submitted through the contact form
• To secure accounts (session management, MFA, suspicious-login alerts)
• To maintain audit trails for compliance and support purposes
• To send service, security, or billing notifications where email delivery is enabled

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use fleet or driver data for advertising.

4. Where data is stored

All data is stored on infrastructure we operate directly — there is no third-party cloud data warehouse. Object storage (event snapshots) runs on self-hosted infrastructure. API keys and claim codes are stored as one-way hashes, never in recoverable form. MFA secrets are encrypted at rest. Portal sessions use HttpOnly, secure cookies validated server-side.

5. Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal data. Data is shared only:

• With your organization's own authorized users, scoped to your fleet
• With our email delivery provider, solely to send account and security notifications, when enabled
• Where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of AegisFleet or others

6. Retention

Contact form submissions are retained until resolved and for a reasonable period afterward for follow-up. Portal account and fleet data is retained for the duration of the customer relationship and as required for compliance/audit purposes afterward. You can request earlier deletion — see Section 8.

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may have the right to access, correct, update, or request erasure of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Portal users can update their own profile and manage active sessions directly from the portal at any time.
